Here to Satisfy Your Pin Cushion Needs

There was a tornado warning! It poured and wind blew around and newscasters got all bent out of shape and we all crowded around and watched the tv with avid attention as they said the same thing over and over.

Luckily we had wine to dull the fear. And a delicious meal brought to you by Hannah and Allison's amazing cooking skills. Spaghetti and Meatballs! (Almost rivals Mary Jean's... almost.)

What were people's last words as the tornado was swooping? (Hypothetically)

Cody Hanson's was my favorite: "love you haley." What a sweetie!!!

Hannah, in her usual insightful way, suggested she'd call her parents.

Chris went all melancholy and said "Oh what could have been..." Deep, Chris. Real deep.

Bridge said "This tornado will not touch my bones! Haha, get it.. that pun so kinda works" (we were going to stones and bones a.k.a. keystone and wings at Brother's later that night.)

I suggested, "You won't take me ALIVE mutha f**ka!!!! and then I would leap into the air as the tornado ripped the roof off and gallantly do combat with the tornado ultimately leading to my heroic defeat. Yea, juxtapose that with this pic...

I've read multiple places that a camera shows your perspective on the world. These next two pics were taken by Paul and seriously... his world is messed up.

Soooo after the threat of inevitable demise left, we went to Brother's! There was a huge line for wings (understandably so since they're so delicious) but when Lyss, Bridge, and I came back from the bathroom Lin and Paul had magically procured wings from somewhere. Supposedly they'd been abandoned at a table. They scoped it out for a bit and then swooped. We took the wings upstairs, where there was some kind of work party with middle-aged people mingling and sat in a corner and ate these slightly cold wings.

This is a candid shot. Not posed whatsoever. I swear this time! Not lying!

Anywho... on a new tangent I went home this weekend! Susan and Steve are working MACHINES. I helped kind of. Mostly I just posed and made it look like I was working.

The reason I went home this weekend was for Lance and Cody's grad party at my Dad's house.

Mia and Grace with Dad and Grandpa

I don't think I can express how much I care for everyone in this picture. I miss them a lot. It makes my heart hurt.

But we're going to drink it up in Mexico sometimes soon. ;)

Aaron's got himself a new fiance. Congrats Cuz.

Onto a less sober topic... Alyssa Sands, the last roomie, turned 21 Yesterday!

Yea, I live with crazies.

All of us together?!?!

Bday girl at the Bar!

Blaire and Buffy, the fraternal twins.

Goodnight Y'all!

To the Terrace!!!

Oh chyea, I would not mind if I spent my whole summer on the Terrace. When I'm not at work, life seems to be a blur of grilling, drinking, sunning, chatting, eating... so all good stuff! Altho I need to cut back on the spending as well. This whole being 21 thing can very easily get out of hand.

You can rent canoes and kayaks from the Union! That is a goal before the end of the summer.

We were sitting on a dock for about two hours watching these kids frolic in the water and pull up this nasty seaweed and throw it at each other. Two hours! And there were no parents in sight. Finally the rents strolled up, from some far away place, and said a few words to their kids. Then they were off again, after dropping a few bucks for food off. Maybe I'm being a little over protective, but seriously? Two hours! "Yep, Momma. They're still alive. Let's get another pitcher before we drive the dirty hooligans home."

This dude was showing off h core, weaving around in the crowded water right in front of the terrace and then circling around and doing it again. We get it dude, you know how to steer a sailboat.

These guys were playing some music for us all to enjoy. I stopped while strolling by, put my camera to my face, and this guy was like: Bam! Intense Face! And then I snapped.

Collage of Lime Faces. My favorite is how each expression is so different.

So picturesk! That night was pretty great. (text) Invitations were sent to a whole bunch of random people to come over to Palisades to grill, and everyone got along, and it wasn't awkward, and the night was a success!

This is the girl's flip cup team! It's very hard to keep an intense face when you're trying not to laugh. The record, you're wondering? We won. The last game that is.

"But really, Haley." you say to yourself. "How many games did you play?" Hmmm. 10. So yes, the score, in the boys favor, was 9 to 1.

"What's your spirit animal?" Is one of my favorite questions to ask/try and figure out. Dmitriy, in contradiction to this picture, is a black bear. I'm a gazelle. Don't fight it. "Appreciated for their grace, it is a symbol most commonly associated in Arabic literature with female beauty." bahahaha, that pretty much sums me up, aye? I am NOT a slow loris.

Candid Colie!!!

Had my first ever Bloody Mary

The weather has been HOT. Like 99 degrees the other day and Claire suggested that would make a brilliant sunset. She was very very very right. Gorgeous if I do say so myself. You couldn't have taken a bad pic if you tried!!

I think I would have liked this better with a little more dock in the foreground. Still good though.

Long exposure shot! Gonna have to start messing around with that a little bit more.

Sandy Virginias

The beauty of sports is being outside in the sun, but never staying in one position too long so you get lots of sun-to-skin angles. (There's this whole nagging "I must be tan! It's the summer" phase I'm going through.)

Pics throughout slightly unrelated. Went and chilled on the docs with Meg + crew for some sun action.

Vitamin D, check. Skin cells burning and dying, check.

In the name of vanity, I decided to read on Bascom Hill the other day (Never Let Me Go). The backs of my legs... oh man. Red. And a very obvious break between where my legs were scorched and where they were not.

I really shouldn't be so dumb. Rotation is key! And patience! I spend long, arduous minutes: crouching down uncomfortably, feeling the pain of fire scorching my face and hands, holding my tired arms out and slowly rotating the not-quite-perfect stick I found after searching in the chilly, creepy darkness outside the campfire. Some would say it's not worth it. Stick it in the fire, let it burn, and then blow it out. It'll taste fine.

But they don't understand! Marshmallow nirvana is worth it!

You would think it would be natural to apply this very same standard to my skin, something much more precious.

Transitioning to different thought...

I've realized books are a very dangerous thing to put in my hands. As long as I'm slightly interested, once I start, I cannot stop. I just can't. I started "Never Let Me Go" yesterday. I just finished it a few minutes ago. It's a compulsion. I HAVE to know what happens. Even if I know it's going to be nothing good.

Also, I don't like how much reading makes me think, and feel like I don't completely understand. I just keep gnawing away at it, trying to sort my thoughts out and figure the book out. And then I slightly give up, which makes me disappointed with myself. That is, if it has any kind of depth to it.

Maybe that's why I usually stick to what I've already read. I love rereading, probably because it's not a challenge.

I'm going to try and read more this summer, and not what I've read before. I think next on my list is "The Great Gatsby".

Lyss keeps falling down stairs when she's wearing flats because she's so used to wearing heels. Pretty sure she was born to be business.

I lurve being home. (I was in Chip this weekend) It's a nice change of pace, a.k.a. a lot more relaxed and lazy. Yet, I always am slightly annoyed with myself when I sit on the couch watching tv for hours. I don't do that in Madison but for some reason I can't help myself when I'm at home.

Trippy.

Good work Paul. Don't really know why I like this pic.

Oh yeah, also went to ground school for Hoofer's Sailing Club. Probs not going much further than that. It's expensive to join and I don't have enough of a passion/urge to learn to sail to justify it.

Oh, how cliche... yet so necessary!

b.t. dubs, the title refers to a vball team I played on tonight, just to step in when they were low on players. :) Fun stuff, altho I realized just how terrible I've gotten at volleyball.
