Luke Warm
First thing in the morning at the cafe, someone complains about their coffee being cold. So, we ran another pot... no good. It was still cold. The coffee machine was broken. Our cafe was without coffee... how utterly inconvenient.

It's Good to be Home
A little bit after I was home I heard my mom and brother bickering down the hallway. It made me very happy for some reason. It feels familiar and I have missed it.
So I forgot my camera in Madison. It's killing me! I hadn't realized how attached I had become. BUT, I'm surviving... barely. The ride down was fun though. Laur doesn't have air and it is hot and muggy, so we kept the windows down. There's just something nice about flying down the highway with the wind in your hair, the sunroof down, and a dairy queen ice cream cone in hand. :)
I listened to some of Laur's music, and then subjected her to listening to some of my music. I felt like she was tolerating, more than enjoying, but she'll learn. This was me when I got to play my songs for her! See what I resort to when I don't have my camera? It stings! Shield your eyes!

Guess who played the lying down game! We did!! It was soooper fun. Katie and Joy are pretty much pros at it.

Random tangent, but the whole lying down game reminded me of something! I know what I want to do when I die. Well, not what I want to do, what I want done to me. I want to be dipped in a vat of liquid nitrogen until I am -321 Fahrenheit and then jolted into a pile of powder and then buried in a potato starch box! Wanna join me? :D It's good for the earth and cheap! Woot Woot!
WAIT WAIT WAIT!

There! All fixed! (Hint: click here)

This is Hoofer Motor Boat to Shore
I know this is a little late, but I was dead tired last night and had to work until just about now today. BUT, yesterday was surprisingly wonderful. So yeah, The Hoofers Sailing Club is pretty much the coolest club ever (in the summer at least).
We went sailing with John, who we met on the terrace Friday, and four of his friends. Ian had a sailing class and so he didn't come out with us. The plan was for him to make his way out with some other people on another sailboat, but there wasn't much wind.
Ian and his crew ended up getting stuck out on the water, so around sundown a boat went and pulled them back to shore. We were told at sundown a motorboat comes around and pulls in anyone who was "stupid enough to get stuck out there." Luckily, our boat had a motor, although we didn't use it until we had to go back in.
This is Sarah, she's a sailing instructor, and met John through her boyfriend, Nick, and they're instructors together.
This is Rei, she is a grad student that just got a job at Princeton teaching Japanese. She met John through her roommate who is really good friends with John and has hung out with him on multiple occasions.

This is Nick, he is also a sailing instructor, and met John because they're both meterologist majors.

This is me. I met John at the Terrace. On Friday. I would probably not have been on the boat except for Emily. I felt like... I had no right to be there. Yet, they all were extremely welcoming.

I've decided sailors are very laid back people. You have to be in order to have the mentality, "Let's go out on the water. What, there's supposed to be 0 wind tonight and that is our mode of transportation? Who wants to grab the life jackets?" There's not even any mention of not going out. They chuckle and its as if they're saying: we might get stuck, and that will be hilarious.
I like them a lot.

Not only did we sail, we played cards and drank beer from a keg. A keg! On the sailboat! Am I the only one whose mind is blown by this awesomeness?

P.S. I asked what "coming in warm" (which is more often said as "coming in hot") meant, and it means coming in too fast! Good to know, right? Although there are a lot of other definitions for coming in hot. I really like number three.

This is Alcohol We're Talking About
Happy Birthday Jordan, hope it was great! I had a lot of fun. :)

Had to get a birthday cupcake for Jordan! Cookies and Cream!

With drinking, there's just something words cannot express.

This is Mike. Although he agreed to be called Bob and referred to himself as "Angel". And not the spanish way of pronouncing it.

Can one ever truly understand a piece of pizza?

2:30 am Fire Drill
So... whoever thought it was a good idea to pull the fire alarm at 2:30 a.m. last night, I really am not happy with you. First night back in Madison and I had to stand outside in my pajamas, watching firemen go into the building when I knew--when all of Madison knew--that thar weren't no durned fire. (My attempt at an old-angry-man-in-overalls-with-no-teeth-and-lots-of-chew accent (sorry if this doesn't make sense))
Therefore I was justified in sleeping in til 10:45, right? First time this summer, and it felt soo good. I worry that it might become a recurring thing though, which I would rather avoid. Today was a pretty lazy day. Even the pic I took... got it on the first try at about 11:56 pm. I looked at it and was like, "Yep, this is good enough." It is quite fitting considering how much time I spent doing nothing. Although I did fill out and turn in a couple of applications to jobs. Cross your fingers.
Now if you'll excuse me, my bed felt extremely wonderful. I do believe it's calling my name.
Goodnight, y'all! (See, still working on the western thing!)

Kitchen v. Bathroom
Back in Madison!
What's with the pics you may ask?
We had a photo competition. You had to make your outfits out of supplies found in your room. Em and I got the bathroom if you can believe it and Alyssa and Laur got the kitchen. We aren't sure who won though... Alyssa and Laur think they won, and Em and I think we won. Opinions? I would just like to throw in there that Em and I even turned the shower on, that's how committed we were.

You would not believe how difficult it is to make clothing out of toilet paper and my shower curtain kept falling down.

In my humble opinion though, this is the true winner...

Tomorrow is job hunting, wish me luck!

Dude, You Just Touched My Penis- Erica Wilczek
I made $200 in commission this week!!!! Shut up, I know! Wendy's the bomb. PLUS I got cowboy boots for $2o! Woot Woot. Country Fest here I come. No one will even be able to tell I'm an Alice In Chains Girl at heart. Although, do Country folk say Woot Woot? I might have to work on that. Yeehaw! There we go.
I am the epitome of laziness. I finally cleaned out my top drawer, but I have shit EVERYWHERE that needs to get picked up pronto. Hopefully by noon tomorrow. Because (hopefully) that's when I'm leaving for MADISON! Altho I will def miss my chip friends. :(

Went to a Hookah Bar in Eau Claire. The ride there was just as interesting as everything else. Advice of the day: Do not let Ben drive. Ever. But especially when there's four girls in the back of the car. That's what the first pic is of! Don't we look like we're having fun? Josh pointed out that us girls were way too happy about being crammed into the back of a car and that guys would be pissed in the same situation. So for a few minutes the car was filled with our attempts to be guys. Pretty sure we said "Dude" fifty times in that short window of time as we elbowed each other. Erica finally topped it off with "Dude you just touched my penis." In an attempted manly voice. It was pretty awesome.

We planned on smoking at the hookah bar, but because of the smoking ban you're only allowed to smoke... idk... something that doesn't have tobacco in it. Anywho, we all chipped in and purchased Oswald. Oswald the Hookah has now joined our ranks and it sounds as though Ben is determined to take Ozzy everywhere. No. 1 on the list is the drive-in theatre. Sad I'm going to miss it. I feel like this picture is a little trippy, so I figured it was perfect! Isn't Oswald adorbs? We def broke him in tonight.

You're Part of the Problem; You're One of Them
Started work at 8 today... 8 to 4 dealing with crazed women trying to find their shoes. The piles are the worst. Women around shoes, are like squirrels getting ready to hibernate. They find some chair and they horde their piles and piles of shoes under and around that chair. Anything that is even remarkably close to their size gets pulled in and God forbid you try to touch their piles before they're done with them. They sit there guarding and trying on and sending us to get more shoes and pacing back and forth. And all the reject shoes? Left behind for us to pick up. The moments of bliss are when I get to go upstairs "looking" for a shoe that I know we will not have. I get a chance to sit in the row that the shoe supposedly is in. Often times I end up lying down. It's two to three minutes of bliss where I just stare at the ceiling and think about absolutely nothing. The cheap carpet, hardly cushioning the cement beneath, is the comfiest floor I've ever laid on.
Joy and I had a lovely photo shoot at Holy Ghost! Should've brought my tripod though. I don't know why I ever think it'll be ok not to bring it.

I just think this pic is the cutest thing everrr!

This picture was not planned, but I love that the flag is waving in the background.

Let's Hide in Wendy's Office
The tent sale has officially begun! All the employees came down and corporate cooked brats and hot dogs. What it amounted to was a lot of stress for Wendy when the computers were all completely down, and a feeling that we were constantly being watched. I was 0/3 on helping customers. It was very frustrating because each pair of shoes would be so close... but just not quite right. So none of them ended up buying anything. And then I went upstairs to talk to Denise and Shadah and Tim Scobie (Scobie = stockholder = kind of a big deal = could fire me in a second for looking at him wrong = can go upstairs where one but store employees are allowed) heard me say 0/3 and was like "What, with guys?" The customer was like 90! Thank you, no. He is also the one who turned the station from 92.9 to 100.7 saying, "who listens to this old stuff?" I do. I listen to it. And what was he wearing you may ask? Hot pink crocs and an army helmet. But, even factoring in all of this... he's still very intimidating. Because he's a Scobie. Privately owned companies, gotta love them.
Annnyways, spent the rest of the day doing nada. Eventually managed to get a pic I liked. I have two of these picture frames and am determined to do something with them! They're just so cool! But also quite heavy.
