Text Rock Paper Scissors? Fail.
I was on my way to study, when I decided to walk down lakeshore path. Then I walked over to steenbach, but it was only open for two more hours... so I decided I wasn't going to study there, and I then noticed the Botanical Garden, and I had my camera, so I took some pictures for another hour or so and then I decided to go back to 420 because I just wasn't getting a good vibe anywhere. haha, oops...
But I really think I got some good pics in the process!
There were bees everywhere in these flowers! It was bee heaven. When you unfocused your eyes it was constant movement everywhere, just crawling with the things. Kinda cool though.

Are You a Big Runner?
The takeout containers that my Chinese comes in at home never have the metal handles anymore, and I've always pined for the classic design. Let me tell you, be careful what you wish for. Asian Kitchen has the classic design, metal handle and all. Can I ask, what is the real reason for that handle? We carried it out in a huge brown bag, and never utilized the handle. THEN, when I wanted to reheat my leftovers in the microwave, I couldn't because of the stupid handle. So I took off the handle, and the whole thing fell apart like some kind of backwards origami. I had to use a plate. It just makes sense to not have the handles anymore. Catch up Asian Kitchen, what are you thinking?

P.S. My fortune cookie said I was going to be a huge philathropist in the future, and I figure in order to be a huge philanthropist... I'm going to have to have a lot of money. Ipso facto my fortune cookie said I'm going to be rich. You all better be nice to me. :)

Team Industrial Revolution/Shark Week/Balugas/ Whale Blubber vs. Team Whale Hunter
I played Ultimate today! And my legs are def feeling it already. The weakness has set in, and I'm sure the soreness will be following in the morning. The Pork Fried Rice (a.k.a. PO FO RIE! for the Wagner/Christensen household) I ate afterward helped though.
Best part was a kid walked up to us, (IN CLEATS) and wanted to join. He honestly would be on one side of the field and then sprint as fast as humanly possible to leap in the air and catch the frisbee... only to often drop it clumsily. He was a little overeager. Wayyyy more into it than anyone else, especially since we'd been playing for awhile, most of us aren't especially in good shape, and it was humid as... something very humid. A tropical rainforest? As soon as the game ended, he disappeared as quickly as he came. It was assumed he was off to find another ultimate game; always running, always searching, never stopping until he finds more ultimate.
Sadly, no ultimate pics for you guys. BUT, because of the humidity mentioned above, we did a mass exodus from the kohl center lawn, heading over to the terrace for some swimming and I DID get pics of that. :)

So happy!

Hairy Legs
SO It just so happened that Alyssa and Emily were wearing flannel. So I put on flannel and we took a picture. I think it turned out quite epic. Em or Alyssa, I can't quite keep them straight, said that it kind of looked like we were a lesbain band. So here's our poster. You should come check us out when we're in concert.

Moo Bitch! Get Out the Whey!
I went to a roller derby on saturday!!! It was sooo awesome. I don't know if it's epicness could ever be captured in words. Interestingly enough they had a rule, no SLR cameras on the floor, so I could only take pics from the stands. That was kind of lame.
It was the most white trash event I've been to in a long long time. And I loved it. I've got the derby fever! I'll try to give more description if I ever get back around to it, but here're some pics.

These are the Dairyland Dolls! They won. Go team!

So in short, the girl with the star on her helmet (the jammer) of both teams tries to get through the "pack" before the girl on the other team does so. When they manage to do so, they have to go around again and catch up to the pack. Then, any person on the other team in the pack that they pass, they get a point for the team. That's called a Jam. There are probably about 15-20 jams every half, and there are two halfs. The front jammer decides when the jam is over and there's a lot of strategy. These girls were fierce.
So here you see that the dairyland jammer is out front, and since the ref is pointing at her like that, it means she's the lead jammer (has already made it through the pack before the other jammer) and is now going around to try to score points.

Corn On the Cob!
We started taking down the bunkbeds b/c Em and Alyssa are selling them. Did it all by ourselves too :)

Friday Emma from work invited me over to her house for corn on the cob and hamburgers on the grill. It was delicious, and then afterwards we played cards until like 2 in the morning. I ended up just sleeping over there and then in the morning we had chocolate pancakes (from scratch!) Yah, I have to hang out with them some more! ;)
Unfortunately I didn't want to seem like a weird creeper who didn't have any friends, so had to take pics of people I just met, so I didn't bring my camera. :( Stupid social norms. I'm sure you all understand.

Ebling Library
I decided to visit Em at work, her library job that is. Ebling library is the shit! It's way the H across campus, I think it took me like 30-45 minutes to walk there, but it's an awesome library.

Ebling really understands what college students need on the brink of a study breakdown. I'm assuming this guy doesn't get much action during the summer. But come finals, I bet people are waiting in line for him.

Isn't that adorable? They also had kleenexes at tables, which I'm assuming is for the tears being cried over a failed final.
Ebling is the library for med students, as can be seen by the rows and rows of books like "American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology" Umm... yeah.

The Sweet Spot
Concert on the Square this week was... different. It's interesting to see how the concert can change, just because of where you're sitting. We lucked out the first week we went, and didn't understand how nice we had it. We had found "the sweet spot".
Let me explain.
The second week Laur and Meagan went right at three (the concert starts at 7) and we were front row and center. But, that meant we were surrounded by avid concert goers. Any talking got looks, and a group next to us got yelled at.
The third week (this week) we got there at like 5:45 so we were out in the boonies. Who is in the boonies you may ask? Families are in the boonies. Loud children and lots of talking. At points we couldn't tell which Beatles song it was. It was frustrating.
Isn't it beautiful?

This is the patch of grass that was occupied by a family with three very small children. It wasn't the children who bothered me though, it was the disrespectful father that really got under my skin.
Hi, when I said you could put your blanket down almost on top of ours, that didn't mean you should sit your ass down right in my face where I'm reading my book. And lifting your small son over your shoulder so he can upside-downly grab at our cheese and baguette isn't ok either. It shouldn't be the responsibility of the other man sitting with to grab your son and pull him back onto your blanket. Ugh. Plus the son hit me in the arm with yogurt.

Aww the pretty trees in the pretty sky, right? WRONG! There are dozens of squirrels up in those trees. You just can't see them because they're slippery little bastards. They're bent on taking over. First just Madison, then all of Wisconsin, then the U.S. and then the world! They must be stopped. But by who? The Chosen One. He may not even be born yet, but he'll come. And save the world from The Tree Foes.

Go Be a Pod By Yourself
Went on a triple date with Em and Alyssa yesterday. We ate at "Continental Cafe". It was awkwardly quiet and I felt like the old couple next to us was constantly listening in on our conversation. Had the waiter take a pic of us... he was quite the photographer: "Be a tiger, rawr." He even had the claw action going on. I don't think any of us rawred.
Then we went to the Orpheum to watch "Get Him to the Greek". Watching a movie in the Orpheum was really cool. It's like a theatre where you'd watch a play, but they just put up a huge movie screen and call it good. We went and sat in the balcony. There were probably about fifteen people in there tops. When the lights went out it was pitch black, and your voice kind of echoed around the theater. I suggested howling like wolves... but no one wanted to.

This big.

This was leading up to the balcony in the Orpheum. Creepy right?

Home Alone
So Em and Alyssa took off for Pitchfork, leaving me w/ the apartment alll to myself. It's kinda nice, but I'm kinda bored.
So, working in a coffee shop does has it perks. My favorite: free espresso drinks. I am getting to the point in my life where I really enjoy coffee.
Go me! Coffee seems like a rite of passage; when you finally start liking it... you're an adult. Or that's how it's always seemed in my mind. So, hurrah! Haley is finally an adult! On the other hand... my love for donuts and everything sweet is still with me, and I like to think of that as the kid in me. That's what I was going for in this pic... That is a real live donut in my hand. It was delicious. Sadly, I didn't make a pot of coffee for the occasion.

Anywho. If you guys are interested in some more multiplicity pics (which I just found out they're called) check these out... click me!
My next goal is to have "me" interacting with myself. :) Baby steps. I really like the pic of the girl pouring herself a glass... and the one with the mirror is crazy! That I may attempt in the near future. Well, knowing me, in the kind of near future

The Showdown (part 2!)
As Maurice was walking the fifth day in a row, suddenly she heard a shout go up!
Mavis: Maurice!

Maurice turned, and a wave of relief rushed through her. She was hungry, tired, and scared, but at least she had an ally now. Mavis came running up to her and pulled her into a hug.
Mavis: Maurice, I've been so scared! I thought you were dead!

Maurice: I'm ok, but Betty's following me! What are we going to do? I'm really tired and haven't eaten in days.

Mavis: Well, supposedly in the far off place of "Mifflin St." there is this secret puff ball. And if you grab the puff ball, you will be given two wishes. BUT, this puff ball is always moving... you never know where it's going to be. I guess it answers to the name of Matt, and I think that's our best bet.
Maurice: How did you ever hear about this?

Mavis: The Wonderful Witch of Wisconsin of course! She gave me directions too!

Maurice: Oh yeah! Duh! Well let's go!!!
MEANWHILE!
Betty: We're never going to find her. I think we're lost.
Patty: What are we going to do?

Suddenly there's a HUGE explosion and Betty and Patty are no longer alone!

Betty: Who are you?!

Sue: I'm the Wicked Witch of Wisconsin! But you can call me Sue!

Patty: You don't seem very wicked to me. You seem kind of sober. How are you going to help us Sue?

Betty: Shut it Patty! You're so practical. She can be the Wicked Witch of Wisconsin if she wants. How are you going to help us Sue?

Patty: Ok, Betty.

Sue: I know where Maurice is going! The other Witch of Wisconsin told her about Matt the Magic Puff Ball, and if she grabs the puff ball, you'll never be able to kill her!

Betty: Well how do we get there? Hurry up! Tell us!

The Wicked Witch of Wisconsin gave Betty and Patty the directions to the magical land of Mifflin, and sent them on their way. But they were so far behind, Sue knew they would never catch up without some help.
Megdam: We're here to help! Get on our backs!

With Megdam's help, Betty and Patty were able to catch up to Maurice and Mavis, and reached the magical land of Mifflin at the same time!
Maurice: Why are there so many people?

Mavis: It makes it harder to find Matt the Magical Puff Ball.
Maurice: Ohhhh. Well let's start looking.
Mavis: Wait! I think I see him!
MEANWHILE!
Betty: How are we ever going to find the puff ball in all these people?

Patty: We'll just have to keep looking. Hey wait! There he is!
And they were both right. They had both seen Matt the Magic Puff Ball at the exact same moment.

Who will reach Matt the Magic Puff Ball first? What will they wish for? Will Maurice die? TO BE CONTINUED...
