Laur was in town! Two weekends ago... how bizarre. It seems like it was yesterday.
Lyss let out her inner lesbian. (Inappropriate?)

Double Deuce
We didn't end up going to a party at 22 Orchard St. (Bridge got the night wrong. It was a great mistake to make in my opinion.) buuut we did do some good conversing with Steve and Dan and friends.
This is the epitome of the double deuce. Shee'sa beauty, ain't she.
Eventually we were at the bars and stumbled across a bachelorette party...
dawww
Laura saw a bar fight. and was tackled or tackled someone. not quite sure which one. But at different points in time.

Lance Says: Turn Here!
My assigned task for Lance's grad party was to make his signs.
I wanted to be original.
Lance didn't really like that.
We put his face on the signs with directions such as "Turn Left Here, Please & Thank You" with Lance staring you down if you didn't.
"Why can't you just be normal, Haley?!" He shouted bitterly. I loved it. Plus, people commented on the signs so it was a great way to interject myself into into Lance's spotlight.

Duke and Scott! Too cute for words. Scott that is.

Yay for Independence!
So, I know the Fourth of July was a LONG time ago, but hey, shouldn't we always celebrate independence? I am a free an' independent woman and I love the United States. baha.
Saturday was Rhythm and Booms, which is the huge firework display in Madison. We watched from the terrace, and I have to admit, the fireworks were my least favorite part of the day. Lin and I got to the terrace at about 4:00 and played the "who's going to be married first among our friends game" while drinking a pitcher. Good stuff.
Then Lin left and I looked like an alcoholic sitting there with my pitcher and book. Luckily Bridge and Meg and Anita came soon after.
By 8:00p the terrace was PACKED. Also, I did nothing to this picture, which makes it that much cooler in my mind.

My cool friends.

It's Intriguing!
Oh hey! Long time no update... my creative urges have gotten a little off the beaten blog path, but I will try and keep this up.
We played Bar Golf! What is Bar Golf you may ask? ahhh... well it's something like going golfing at the bars, without the golf clubs and balls and holes and drinks instead!
Wonderful.
The event invitation said, "the drink you choose to order will determine your score on each hole The more intense and alcoholic the drink, the better the score. For example, at Brothers a beer would be a bogey where as a jumbo long island would be a birdie. If you do not order a drink you automatically get an 8 for that hole. Twenty minutes will be spent at each bar so pace yourself!
This is for realz.

Double tequila shot on the second hole! Birdie Baby!

V sad this pic is blurry. :( Amateurs. pffft.

Chaser's was the last hole. This pic pretty much tells it all. Love Kelsey creepin in the back, lol.

Before Bar Golf we grilled out!

Young, Wild, and Free
I do believe I'm known as a picky eater. I have this vivid memory of being somewhere fancy, my mom furious and demanding I eat some nasty thing... probably an onion or something, so I plugged my nose, while crying, and took a bite pretending it was a cookie. It didn't work. I felt like I was going to vomit. And she told me to stop because I was embarrassing her.
BUUUTTT that was a long time ago, and now my palate is sophisticated enough to enjoy raw fish. Who woulda thunk!

Bridge introduced us to Ginza's and we got our own "tea room" they called them.

Went to Chicago this weekend... idk, I wasn't inspired or something. I took all of 8 pics. Here's the best of them, which is nothing to write home about. Oh well, I'll just have to go back.

For P House, Hannah and her crew decided they're sending a postcard to all the incoming frosh, saying something like "Worst Gift Ever: ______" Best Gift Ever: Finding Yourself Among Friends" Hannah and I went to Ragstock looking for the worst gift ever. Pretty sure we found it. "Worst Gift Ever: Long Johns in July"
Hannah rocked those long johns for shiz. Even though we went to a beach. Even though there were a ton of people around slightly gawking at us.

Is Southern a Foreign Accent?
So I shut my laptop unthinkingly before all my pics were uploaded to flickr. So, I only got a few of the pics I wanted to put up, but there will be more to come!
Bri's bday party!

It was lush and frisky and wild and loaded and tanked... well we had bracelets that said it was all those things. Actually, the braclets said we were all those things. I was "tanked" but then I traded for "loaded". I like loaded because it could have a couple different meanings.

Whiskey River was dead. (It was a Sunday night.) So we had the whole dance floor to ourselves. Obvi we showed off our skillz.

This is the only pic I have from night golfing that uploaded! I considered waiting until I got home so I could do them all together, but knowing me it will be friday that I'll get around to posting again.
Look! We're in a tree!

We were about to park the car on a side street close to the golf course. We drove past this old woman shuffling down the road, in the dark, at 11pm at night, so we did a lap around the block. Someone suggested this woman was some prophetic omen and she'd limp slowly over to us and stare creepily, and we'd be paralyzed as she whispered some fate waiting for us. I was more of the opinion that she herself would be the cause of our death and that as we were walking the course she was up in the trees, crawling about like some over-sized, under-legged spider, waiting for her chance to strike.
Neither of these guesses came to be, and we never saw the old woman again.

Hyggelig
“The fairway follows the road, so anyone could see us for the whole first hole from the road. Well some cop was driving past, saw us, and turned his lights on. So my friend, Sue,” I’m not actually sure what Paul said his friend’s name is. It definitely isn’t Sue. It was 2:30am last night when Paul was telling us this story, driving back from the golf course, and little details like that just don’t stick in my head.
Sue was actually a man that called MLG; he was rather persnickety. None of the brokers were in and Sue didn’t want to leave any details with us, so he informed us that if Natter wanted his business, he would just have to listen to the message Sue had left on his cell phone and call back. (David Natter is one of the brokers. There used to be three Davids in the office, so now even though he’s the only Dave, he’s still often referred to as Natter.)
Julie also got the chance to talk to Sue and we were both convinced Sue was rather strange. Sue called back after an hour and Natter was in at this point so I transferred the call over. When Natter hung up the phone he turned to Julie and me and said, “That wasn’t a man.” He shook his head, “I’ve met this woman, and she is a whole lotta crazy.” He turned and looked at me then, “Haley, this woman… I did a deal with her about five years ago. I stared into her eyes, she was sitting across from me and I stared into her eyes, and there was nothing there.” I believe that.
But back to Paul’s story. “Sue,” whose name isn’t actually Sue, “is this huge guy, looks like a sumo wrestler, but he’s a super nice guy and he went over and started sweet talking the cop, explaining why we were here and that we were just playing a little night golf.” In the end, the cop laughed and gave them the ok. Paul said he left them saying, “Sorry for interrupting your round.”
Pretty cool, but I’m glad the cops didn’t show up last night. It would have ruined the mood. Everything was a shade of silver. The moon was huge, casting long shadows and there was fog hanging in the distance. I didn’t bring my camera and I’m still kicking myself for it.
So in conclusion, if I could pick any time to play golf, it would be 11pm.
