Responsibilities!

Aw man, sorry guys. I know this has been quite the leave of absence. I was in Tomah over the weekend though without internet... there was dial up, but I was told your computer has to be like... connected... with a telephone cable or something? It's beyond me.

Tired though... so I'm just going to post pics. It's not that I haven't been taking pictures! (That's the easy part) I just haven't gotten around to this babay. Ok let's see what we've got...

The night of Em's Bday... I didn't really partake

The Union Terrace is probs one of my top three favorite places on campus.

Lyss works at Chasers. A.k.a. V.I.P.

P House went to Tomah. Legit the frickin middle of nowhere. We had Amish neighbors! The woman gave us this weird, death wave.

Will reminds me of Lance SO MUCH. It's creepy. And adorable.

Love the truck in the back.

Seriously. Middle of nowhere.

Every time you tell Sophie, "Smile Soph!" She overthinks it and gives ya this. haha.

There was some mad dancin skillz up in herrr! P House Gangsta style!

This is Me Blanking on a Title

Had girls night yesterday with the Micro Cafe Girls. Diana is going back to Malaysia Sunday and she will be missed. Oh U.S. Visas, such finicky beasts. We started out with margaritas and dinner at Pedros! Alyssa B is not 21 and therefore deemed our DD. She kinda got the shaft; she had to chauffeur us around AND couldn't drink. Emma and Diana thought the margaritas were strong, but I didn't. What does that say? Besides! Anything this pretty can't be that alcoholic, right?

We hit up the movie theater then and watched "Bridesmaids". Pretty sure this is the first time since last summer that I've gone to a movie theater. Don't know why but I was a crying MACHINE last night. Don't let this mislead you, Bridesmaids is hilarious... it just had some moments that really struck me. But then again, I cried over a preview so that should say something... hmmmm moving on.

Then we parted ways and I went to The Blue Velvet, a.k.a. the BV, a.k.a the ritziest joint around. (not true) Had a martini! It was called a "Cafe Velvet". Frickin amazing! Wish I woulda brought my camera. :( Next time guys, next time.

Summa 2011

Is this what you think it is?!?! HECK YES IT IS!!!! I am once again embarking on an attempt to take a photo a day and blog... hopefully I can keep it up. :) Strength! Motivation! Will power! Huzah!!!

Yesterday I helped jump Lyss' car! I've never done something so mechanic! It was quite the process... we had a lot of Good Samaritan help along the way too.

And in the end... SUCCESS! We just about had given up hope after sitting there for ten minutes and it not working (my car is a lot smaller than hers) but then one of the many men that stepped in to help us opened her car door (to try one last time to start the engine before we called in the big guns) and the dome light turned on! Humans: 1 Battery: 0. But really, the battery won in the end as well since we saved its life! Humans: 1 Battery: 1. So it's a tie I guess.

These other few pics are from a while ago. During finals week I did a fashion photo shoot with Meg and Molly for the magazine MODA which Meg writes for.

Shout Out to Steve, for being my number one fan and still checking in on the blog to see what's up. And for covering my fee for going over texting this month... hope all is well on the frog pond.

F'in A

Have you guys ever been to Fat Sandwich?

Pretty much, you roll up at 1:30am and order some horrendous sandwich, stand peering over their counter (the counter comes up to my chin it's so tall) watch them grill, wait til they call your name, and then stuff your face. It's wonderfully delicious.

Anywho, my sandwich must have been forgotten or something. I stood around forever and then finally became desperate and said in an overly loud, slightly childish voice, "Sir, you forgot my sandwich." I think I reverted back to childhood or something what with the humongous counter. Then I blinked these big, pouty doe eyes at him.

It worked.

Crazily enough, I walked away two minutes later with a Fat Sorostitute in hand. (mozzarella sticks, cheese curds, chicken fingers, jalapeno peppers, ranch, and french fries between two buns.. I would def recommend it.)

I'm pretty sure they probs just wanted to get rid of the annoying, "slightly glowing" (as G-Pa Don would say) girl at their counter, but it still made me very happy.

Fat Sandwich

Meg and Lyss are glowing too. And Meg made guac with a fork! Be impressed.
Deep Stuff

My favorite part of D.C.? Don't tell anyone, but it was sitting on the Waterfront in Georgetown when we were supposed to be touring the Smithsonian's.
Peace an Serenity

I seriously think my head is crooked. These pics are never quite straight. This one's pretty darn close though.

Black Beauty a.k.a. "The Godfather"

So I just have to post because I don't want to lose all the great comments this new car I've gotten is getting. First. You need to know what this car looks like.

Cutlass

Now, as you can see... worthy of many comments. The email thread between the extended family looks something like this:

Sue:
It isn't every college girl that gets such a great car...

Scott:
No You Did Not… That is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more “Pimp Daddy” now it’s Pimp Momma.

I huge gold medallion is a must hanging from the rear view mirror.

Gram:
Wow, now that is a cool car..

Good luck at the new job Haley..

What a way to go to work, with the windows rolled down and cruising.

Tim:
Does that come with a tanker truck for on-road re-fueling?

Maybe Lance should take the “Lounge Lizard” and Haley can have Penny!

Sally:
Let's not take a black light to the inside of that car......holy!

Sherry:
Did it come equipped with "Gwetto"!

Very nice Haley. The trailer court in the background is perfect!

Steve:
You know, the funny part is that originally, Sue was not too interested in 'Black Beauty'. Lucky for Haley I was around or she would be driving some nondescript old Corolla or something like that with no personality at all.

Scott:
Now I can definitely see Lance driving the Lizard.

His long hair, gold chains and pants riding down around his knees. Don’t forget the Flavor Flav pumping’ on the stereo.

Sue:
Black Beauty sure does have personality, possibly even a few STDs. :O

Haley:
I do have a shank... that makes me gangsta, right? I'm going to go around flashing my brights at people. I know. It's a little scary what I've become.

Sue:
I just hope nobody approaches you to buy crack or meth or pot. You just may need a shank.

I think I'll get you a gold cap for one of your front teeth. :)

Lance has informed me:
Yup shes mint took'r for a ride some guy downtown gave me a thumbs up, could have been about the car or just the driver.

So we shall see what comes about when hit the road in Black Beauty..

THE CIRCLE

The spring semester of 2011 has begun! There's always this period at the beginning of the semester where I am still in the mindset left over from the end of last semester. I can't really wrap my mind around the idea that I really, truly am caught up on homework, even for next week. I keep thinking I've forgotten something somehow. But nope! All the homework is complete!

At the same time, there's this ominous threat hanging over you.

Scene: You're at the beach, having a blast with your friends, frolicking in the water. Suddenly you look behind you. There's a monstrous wave, reaching so high above you it blocks out the sun! It's growing and picking up speed as you watch helplessly. You start running through the chest deep water, feeling like you're hardly moving. You use your hands to give you more momentum but the water still weighs you down. All the time you keep taking peeks behind you, realizing the wave is quickly overtaking you. You struggle harder, and now the water is only waist deep. But then the wave crashes down on you, forcing you bitterly underneath the surface and you're swept around, feeling overwhelmed and as though you'll never taste oxygen again. You fight through it, refusing to give in, and eventually break free and emerge victorious, coughing up salt water and then raising your arms victoriously in the air! TAKE THAT WORLD! I SURVIVED!! RUAAAGGGH!

You and your friends skip off happily into the sunset.

End scene.

k, I know that was really lame. But kind of a good simile, ya know?

On to the good stuff!!!

Motivation or Boredom?

I know it's been much too long for this to be acceptable, but hey! Here we are! I can't quite explain the reason for this. It's one of the two in the title I think. Either I'm feeling extremely motivated to do stuff, or I'm extremely bored and therefore doing stuff.

Finished painting my room today! It looks good, but where the wall meets the ceiling, (I feel like there should be a name for that but anywho) there are spots where I missed. Most people I point it out to roll their eyes and walk away. But a tiny bit of the wall is white still and THE WALLS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GREEN. Twitch. All I can look at are those stupid white wall-ceiling-cracks! It will be fixed. Otherwise I will go insane.

Here are my ten favorite pics from Cali... the order means nothing. I like them all for very different reasons.

I Forgive You

Went to Green Lake with P House! It was a rainy, cool weekend but we still had a great time... a lot of it spent outside.

Of course there had to be an ice breaker... who would have thought something involving balloons could get so violent. This was Kira before the battle. Doesn't she look happy and peaceful?
IMG_2391

This was Hannah after the battle. Please compare.
IMG_2419

What transpired between these two pics? Two teams went up against each other. There was one person on each team that had balloons taped to them. There were four other people who tried to protect their own person and steal balloons from the other team's balloon person.

It was hard core.

People were rolling around on the ground trying to grab balloons and run them over to their person, pens were used to pop balloons, at least two people were bleeding at the end of it... it was pretty bad.

My favorite mental image was when I looked over and Hannah was huddled in the corner, clutching the one sole balloon we had left in her arms as if cradling her most precious possession.

Oooh babay! Look at that bokeh!
IMG_2430

There's this huge tower up on top of this hill. There's 120 stairs to get up the hill, and then within the tower there's this cramped spiral staircase that goes up forever and ever. Just when you assume you'll never make it to the top... it takes five more minutes.

This is the hill leading to the tower.
IMG_2432

It's a really pretty view... but through a wire fence.
IMG_2439

IMG_2454

IMG_2459

IMG_2444

Now they don't want this tower to be broken into so there's a key you have to get at the lobby which opens up the padlock so you can go in. Eric had the brilliant idea, when half of us headed down, to lock the rest of everyone in. Don't they look diabolical? This is us hiding quietly right around the corner so we could hear them but they couldn't see us.
IMG_2474

Then Connor, who had the key, threw it so it was just out of arm reach, but still visible. Can you see it lying on the ground? It's there.
IMG_2477

Some of us then played ultimate frisbee! I lost every single game (we played three). Of course, this was when we wanted it to rain and mother nature refused us.
IMG_2568

Chris was pretty hard core. Very willing to dive and catch the frisbee.
IMG_2576

Chris is my fav part of this pic.
IMG_2575

Precious. As always.

I do believe this is Maria the stick girl.

Is That Your Friend?

So I think I might be a real estate major. But I figure I shouldn't declare yet, because as soon as I do I'm going to decide I want to be a... pet psychologist or a plummer or something.

We're not even going to talk about my absenteeism. I'll try to be better. See what's inspiring me right now is this guy named Peter Raisch. He spoke at an LRCR event all about social networking and it was awesome. So, I'm restarting twitter, restarting my blog, and about to join LinkedIn.

We have begun a hot guy wall. Flashback to freshman year... for more than just that reason.

I feel extremely lazy with only 13 credits. It's weird having free time. I don't know if I like it.

These are some of my favorite pics!
