These United States

Went to the Terrace tonight! There was a beautiful sunset, mellow bands, and a lot of voices intermingling to create a relaxing atmosphere. We sat in this little patch of grass and took it in all night.

We met some guys who are sailing instructors and are going out on a sailboat Sunday. I havne't been on a sailboat in forever and am really excited. The sailing club is looking better and better. One of the guys I talked to was really interesting. I'm going to tell you the story he told me. :)

He took a fungi class and just a few days ago, he was on his way to work when he saw this huge, beautiful oyster mushroom growing out of a hole in a tree. Since he was going to work, he couldn't pick it, but he wanted that mushroom for himself. What if someone picked it before he could come back and get it? All day at work he worried about his mushroom, but when he went back, it was there! He picked it from the tree as quick as can be and took it back to his apartment. Yesterday he cooked it up and ate it with one of his roommates.

Now don't be getting any bad ideas about Ian. That wasn't no hallucinogenic mushroom. Purely an eating mushroom. In order to get hallucinogenic mushrooms, one must buy from "the Spore Store" (so I'm told) and they'll send you some spores for you to grow your own hallucinogenic mushrooms. Ian decided to dry his mushrooms, chop em up, and mix em in with some melted chocolate. Guess it throws time and space out the window.

But that's neither here nor there. On with the main event!

Ain't she gorgeous?

This is the terrace where we spent the night soaking in the general goodwill of good people.

I've never noticed the badger footprints on the dock before this picture.
